It follows the risky borders and stops them by restraining, if necessary, with its propeller speed sensor and anemometer under extraordinary situations like storms. Most of the turbines do not have this feature and the follow up of the extra ordinary situations and the precautions to be taken are left for the users. The Northel turbines are specially manufactured turbines. They bear many features such as high efficiency, easy mounting and easy installation, automation, data record etc.
The unlicensed class turbines are generally erected at places where the mounting area is limited. The wind is both turbulent and low in such places. Therefore, the turbines should have propeller angle control for a smooth production. Thus, high efficiency and fixed power is obtained even on less windy, very windy and turbulent weathers.
The simplest method to control the propeller cycle, therefore, the power, is to take the body away at very high speeds. When extreme conditions occur in such a situation, the body of the turbine will be turned in such a way to take the wind from the side angle and the propeller speed is reduced, this way. The turbines using this system perform an ineffective, undulating production by not working in a stabile way during storms.
Having completed the R&D studies, Northel exercises propeller angle control (pitch control) of 10 kW or more on the turbines. As a result, production continues even at 2,5 m/seconds in Northel Turbines. Besides, Northel turbines reach the nominal speed at 8 – 9 m/seconds in body escape turbines.
The most important feature is that the turbine meets the needed energy at the average or below average wind speeds at the places where the turbine operates (generally between 2 and 5 m/seconds). If a turbine generates very little energy at 4-5 m/seconds, then, the return of the investment made on the turbine takes many years. Northel turbines are suitable for all kinds of applications as connected to the mains and with batteries at the places where there is no mains. Besides, the software may be changed in accordance with the needs of the user; hybrid systems may be formed. The network, the turbine, generator and the solar system work smoothly depending on one automation system.
